Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fruit preserves (raspberry or apricot)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into shapes.
  6. Cut out centers in half of the cookies.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let cool and spread preserves on solid cookies.
  9. Top with the cookies that have cutouts.
