Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
- Mix in milk and vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
- Divide the batter into separate bowls and color each with food coloring.
- Pour layers of colored batter into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool before removing from pans.
- Stack the cakes and frost with your choice of icing.
