Description
These soft pretzel bites have a golden crust and a chewy center. You finish them with melted butter and coarse salt.
Ingredients

- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 4.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ounces melted butter
- 10 cups water
- 0.66 cup baking soda
- 1 large egg yolk
- Coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Sprinkle yeast on top and wait 5 minutes.
- Add flour and melted butter to the mixture.
- Knead the dough until smooth.
- Cover and let the dough rise for 50 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Boil 10 cups of water with baking soda.
- Cut dough into small pieces.
- Drop pieces into boiling water for 30 seconds.
- Place bites on a baking sheet and brush with egg yolk.
- Bake for 12 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Use warm water between 110 and 115 degrees.
- Do not crowd the boiling water.
- Serve with mustard or cheese dip.
