Description

  • 0.33 cup white sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 large egg
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon purple sanding sugar
  • 1 tablespoon green sanding sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gold sanding sugar

Instructions

  1. Whisk warm milk with yeast and white sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Mix in melted butter and the egg.
  3. Stir in flour and salt to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for five minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl and let it rise for one hour.
  6. Roll the dough into a large rectangle on your counter.
  7. Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll the dough into a long log starting from the wide edge.
  9. Form a ring with the log on a baking sheet and pinch the ends together.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes.
  11. Whisk powdered sugar and two tablespoons of milk to make a glaze.
  12. Pour glaze over the warm cake and top with colored sugars.

  • Place a small plastic baby inside the cake after baking.
  • Keep the milk temperature between 105 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
