Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Large Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 tbsp Butter (divided)
  • 5 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup Chicken broth (low sodium)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Thaw shrimp and pat completely dry. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear shrimp for 1 minute per side until pink. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Deglaze pan with chicken broth and lemon juice. Simmer for 2 minutes to reduce.
  6. Reduce heat to low. Whisk in remaining 2 tbsp cold butter until sauce is glossy and emulsified.
  7. Return shrimp to the pan and toss to warm through.
  8. Stir in lemon zest and parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Shrimp: Do not overcook. Remove them as soon as they turn pink.
  • Alcohol-Free: This recipe uses chicken broth and lemon instead of white wine for a Halal-friendly version.
